Building The Future

Below you will find information about where we are at in the process toward a proposed Building Expansion. Our hope is that, like all those who have gone before us, we would build not just with brick and mortar, but with faith that God uses this place to make disciples. Those disciples, then, are the "living stones" God uses as a place to dwell in the world.

Following Goal #8 from the “2010 & Beyond” Strategic Plan

    STEP 1: TEAMS
       a. Building Team & Finance Team
       b. Very diverse group - high sense of involvement & trust with architect essential
    
    STEP 2: ARCHITECT
       a. Council votes to approve Architect chosen by Building Team
       b. Essential that Architect be a “Team Player” assessing needs & creating design

    STEP 3: NEEDS
       a. Building Team schedule “Fireside Chats” with different groups to discern needs
       b. Essential that all major players are involved (Sunday School, Ministry Teams, etc.)

    STEP 4: BUDGET
       a. How many square feet? How does budget “jive” with needs?
       b. Finance Team develops financial plan

    Plans are drawn & models created to communicate design options

    STEP 5: PLAN REVIEW
       a. Congregation gathers in small groups to review plans, make suggestions, etc.
       b. All possible changes will be reviewed by Building & Finance Teams for feasibility    

    STEP 6: VOTE
       a. One vote on approval of Concept Plan & Financial Plan
       b. If approved, design & construction can be authorized by Council as long as within budget

    NOTE: Very tight financial controls throughout process, high level of accountability
