Spirit of St Luke Choir

The Choir seeks to serve the Lord by assisting the congregation as it offers praise and thanksgiving to Jesus. Rehearsals are at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights during the school year. The choir is directed by Sandy Duehring. It prepares anthems for worship services and helps to introduce new hymns to the congregation.

Adult Learning Opportunities

Adults gather on Sunday mornings (following the local school calendar) for Bible centered studies and small group discussions. Discussing the appointed Bible readings of the day is an opportunity for our members to grow in knowledge and in faith as they discover how God cared for God’s people throughout history and to discover how God continues to care for us today.

Other Adult Bible Studies are ongoing throughout the week; for more details call the church office, review the church calendar online, or check weekly announcements.

If you have a topic that you would enjoy studying or sharing about, please contact Pastor and share your interest. We are always ready to try something new!

Youth Sunday School

Elementary age (and a little bit younger) gather on Sunday mornings (following the local school calendar). Our youth learn about God’s love for all of creation and learn why Christian fellowship is so important. Faith formation is a priority in our congregation, and we hope that it will be a priority in your home as well.

Middle School Confirmation

Our middle school age children (3-year program) gather on Wednesday evenings at 6pm to start to apply the foundations of faith that they learned in Sunday School and VBS. Based on our baptismal promises, we focus on the 10 Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Apostles’ Creed. We respect our youth and encourage them to let the Gospel of Jesus Christ challenge them and to learn how to be Christians in a very diverse world. We encourage our children to be mature and responsible members of the Church of Jesus Christ. The baptismal promises that parents and sponsors made at their children’s baptism can be fulfilled through the completion of this program.

High School Youth Group

God calls us to community. God calls us to service and love of neighbor. Our High School Youth Group offers opportunities for the healthy community that they need. Continuing to help build their faith, we go on trips, offer service to community, and simply have fun at Church.

Ministry of Joy

The Gospel of Jesus Christ fills us with joy, and we love to get together. These ministries are short in nature, and do not require a long commitment. They rotate. Some stay. Others return. This is us trying new things, and not worried about making a mistake or two. It might be a bonfire with Gagaball for the youth. It might be a ‘Nap Ministry,’ how’s that sound?! It might be Theology on Tap. It could be a Holy Hike. Dinner Church. Or maybe a photo contest where we’ve seen God recently in our world. It will definitely be some short Bible Studies based on what our community is concerned about. We are looking for God to guide us and trust that God speaks through you…so share with us what you would like to spend your time doing as a community centered in the love of Christ.

Forever Young

This group offers people over the age of 55 to participate in social and educational opportunities. They meet monthly or as activities and events are planned.

Peacemaker Quilters

In response to Jesus' example of helping those in need, several members of St Luke have organized the Peacemaker Quilters. The Peacemaker Quilters meet weekly. Anyone interested in sharing their time cutting, sewing, and/or tying, check the monthly calendar. Our goal with this ministry is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing quilts.

Blessed Quilters

Blessed Quilts makes quilts for Lutheran World Relief to share with those in need around the world.

Often, when natural disasters strike or war drives families from their homes, our hearts ache with compassion but we don’t know how to help. Making Lutheran World Relief Mission Quilts is a tangible way to express love to our neighbors in need. Quilts can be used as warm bedding, simple tents or floor coverings. Each one reflects God's loving presence in a world rife with suffering.

Prayer Shawl

Our Prayer Shawl ministry knits and crochets shawls for baptisms and people who are ill or need prayers. Shawls can be knitted or created at home or at a Prayer Shawl gathering. If you know of someone who is ill, feeling down, or has just lost a loved one, then please take a prayer shawl for them; they are located in the gathering area of our church building.

Mercy Mats

Mercy Mats are made from recycled plastic grocery bags. The mats provide a comforting sleeping barrier against the wet or cold ground, to a homeless person, while keeping thousands of plastic bags out of our landfills and oceans. How can you help? 1) Supply light weight plastic grocery bags. 2) Help cut the ‘plarn’ (plastic yarn). 3) Learn how to knit/crochet the plarn into a Mercy Mat…you can do this on your own or with the group.

Christian Companions

A group who offers spiritual support to members who are going through difficult times in their lives, doing home visits, and bringing Holy Communion to people who are not able to make it to Church.

Prayer Chain

The St. Luke Prayer Chain is administered by the Church Office Manager, the Pastor, and the Director of Communications. Requests need to be approved by the person/family that is recommended to be added. An announcement will be sent (by phone, text, and/or email) to those who have expressed interest and have demonstrated the ability respect privacy. Names will be removed at the discretion of the Church Office and/or Church Council.
